That is reality for billions of people.

I grew up in a “home” the size of a studio apartment in SF except that we were like 5-10 people in that space. With our kitchen, and a little outside space for bathroom. No running water and sketchy power.

It’s crazy how different that life is from the comfort here which I love.

Maybe this is what will lead us to replicators.

And then SF will become the HQ for Star fleet

Thanks for sharing!

Ai slop

If you can’t tell then damn idk man.

One interesting thing about all this stuff is that we may see a big swing towards paid/trusted solutions for all these type of things.

Maybe the 5-10% of true nerds will go find the l33t open source solutions, but most people will just use some paid solution.

Maybe Steam could build. Or in Windows. Or some SaaS solution for registry.

In exchange you just share your HW info

If one were conspiratorially-minded, one would even be inclined to believe that these were deliberately done to push us towards that authoritarian dystopia of "trusted computing".

There's a huge engineering market there for the nerds, and the output is a cool user experience.

I do that a little bit, for simple cache where I don't need it to be always up to date but close enough and on a single instance only.

Some of my horizontally scaled services have like 500mb disk.

There are people who reply to obvious AI spam bots on X. I think some people are just easily fooled it’s hilarious and sad.
