A 10x engineer who doesn't even know what tools they are using?

I don't understand the workflow of having multiple new bugs everyday that need fixed. Is there bad code being shipped? Are there 1000 devs and it's just this persons' job to fix everyone's bugs? Is this an extremely old and complicated codebase they are improving? Not trying to be snarky - I just don't understand how every day there is new bugs that are just error messages.

If there are new bugs every day that need fixed is the AI really good enough to know the fix from just an error?

Generally I think this happens when people don’t monitor for errors on a regular basis. People only notice if things are actively broken for customers, and tons of small non-fatal bugs slip through and build up over time.

Mongodb is webscale.

Do you think it can handle 10 requests per hour? How many mongo instances will that require, and should I use micro services?

Bros trying to bring thin clients back again.

My biggest feature use of Discord is the drop in / out voice with PTT. I couldn't quite tell if this feature exist.

PTT = push to talk (at least that seems the most probable match on Wikipedia)

Doesn’t exist in Zulip, theres a “camera” button that generates a jitsi link, I tried (and failed) to make it a google meet link, but it works surprisingly well, though it is a context switch.

Yeah Google Meet doesn't have an API to just create a call; several people have tried to hook together the Calendar APIs to make a reasonable similar integration and failed.

I assume this API omission is intentional on Google's part but don't understand the motivation.

Google workspace integrates with google meet. It's likely they don't want a competitor to google chat that uses meet infra.

Well they sold some retirement accounts to Ascensus which you have to have your own account and login for so maybe they will move your 401k too some day and you will be in the same boat as these guys.

Based on the video and rivian history I think they wanted to redesign from the ground up a bike to match the packaging success they had at rivian and companies like lucid vs how legacy automakers approached it. The problem is the current laws about bikes and ebikes limited them and they had to make many tradeoffs which is what we are looking at. I guess we will find it if it was worth it to go ground up vs more off the shelf. As a rivian owner I'm concerned about repair-ability and maintenance.

I was thinking of trying to run this at home: https://github.com/tphakala/birdnet-go

Highly recommend it. The kids and I have really playing with the data. https://birdymusic.com/

It's very nice, I prefer it to Birdnet-pi. It's been running very well for a few months now. It's cool to see the daily and seasonal changes in the detections.

I have been running this for about 1 year, works very well. The developer is regularly updating it and I run the nightly image at the moment.

Go for it. Running it for quite some time at home. Very easy to deploy, regular updates.

I tried to reach out to coinbase customer support to see if I was impacted. Once I wasted my time with the AI bot and got a human they were unaware of the breach. I was the first person to inform them about it.

They emailed impacted accounts. Source: I was impacted

Not sure what to say about that, I had an account with them, but I couldn't verify it, had email, phone and could be some sort of ID scanned - don't remember. Haven't used the account ever since and had nothing there, since January I have been getting regularly calls about my account being "compromised". This leak probably happened way earlier, because there was no way someone knew I had an account there and knew exactly the email I had with them.

I don't believe they did, and I also believe they have known about this issue for a long time, and they should have been required to disclose their mandatory 8k a lot earlier.

Was this the general "Important Notice" email that went out this morning, or something more specific.

The "Important Notice" I got says "This included information related to your account". Also I got an email earlier on April 1 about a breach that sounds very similar if it's not the same one.

Sorry to pester, that exact wording?

I see "We wanted to let you know that we detected activity suggesting that information related to your account may have been accessed in a way that did not align with our internal policies." in the email i got this morning

Yes. Seems the wording in your email is different from mine.

company speak for "we lost your shit bro"

What was the title of the email? I got a generic looking email at 7AM EST this morning describing the breach.

You were read "Wow we didnt know about it, you are the first person talking about it to me" script line.

Maybe the actual first person got unlucky with a lazy customer support agent.

Ten years ago I used to be really into all the mech keyboard stuff. Then I bought a topre realforce and have been using it ever since. The hobby part of the keyboards is neat but as far as "good" keyboard I haven't seen anything that would cause me to switch.

I have broad shoulders, and find a split keyboard is absolutely essential to avoid scapula pain after longer sessions.

The only reason i bother with custom keyboards hobby is because this is the only way to get a split keyboard that doesn’t cost 400$.

They are great but very expensive- this I think is one of the main reasons why they are so niche.

I'm not the only one!!

same. finally got realforce R2 and I'm good. There might be something better for me, but I've spent enough time and money searching for the perfect combination of form-factor, switches, keycaps, materials, etc.

For me, it was the Vermillo in the same form factor. I love it.
