There are a lot of "purists" (I use that term loosely) who seem to think that the web should stay in the form of "static content delivery", and we're blundering up the future by developing all this front-end software for the browser in these janky frameworks which no one will support in 10 years..
But the web is much more accessible to the average user, there's a reason that there's been so much success with JS front-end apps. Sure they aren't as quick and streamlined as their native counterparts, but where cutting-edge performance isn't required I think it's a pretty good option.
