Ask HN: Stripe Atlas after SVB fiasco?
4 points by lostmsu on July 4, 2023 | hide | past | favorite | 3 comments
I am looking to incorporate P2P cloud gaming startup ("Uber for gaming PCs"), and was considering Stripe Atlas, until I saw that their package used Silicon Valley Bank basically almost until the day they tanked.

Their new banking solution Mercury inspires even less confidence.

The issue is payments both to and from users are both critical for a project like this, and since HN-loved Stripe appears to have such a red flag on the first step, what do I even go with?

Mercury is a great bank, much better than SVB when it comes to flexibility for small startups.

It's also very safe [1].

About Stripe Atlas, I only have good things to say, too. As a US NRA, I'm very grateful that it exists.

Maybe you should validate your idea first before incorporating?

Maybe they have? Or they want to validate if people will pay for things?
