I think the core problems are some people love bullshit and others are willing to sell it to them. That's become a booming business nowadays.

Those that love and buy bullshit being sold don't care that it's bullshit. I have literally been told "I don't care if it's a lie, it's still the truth."

Bullshit is like fiction. You know it isn't real, but you enter it anyway. And go along with it. And pretend its real.

Maybe the love of bullshit is related to the love of fiction.

Fiction is almost universally popular.
