This is exactly why I stopped developing for native. If you want to fix a bug or tweak/add one little feature its a huge ordeal. Plus the 30% tax on non-recurring revenue. I'm glad he's doing mac apps. Less competition in the web space.

That's assuming that the app store is the only way to distribute mac apps which, unlike iOS, it isn't.

Correct but if your not on the app store, who will know about your app.

Given the amount of applications on the app store, it is as hard to find anything as anywhere else.

Plus, people are selling desktop applications since the dawn of home computing, nothing new there.

I seem to remember people were selling software for the Mac before the app store came along.

Im just saying your giving up a major marketing outlet if you arnt on the MAS. Of course you can go it alone, but since it is a MAC app, that would be foolish.
